Deduction
Deduction is the branch of formal logic that deals with logical certainty. This does not mean that it deal with logically certain facts. Rather, it means the study of logically certain inferences. The idea here is that we are looking to see what other claims follow necessarily from some set of commitments; it seeks to answer the question, what else must you believe if you believe these claims?
The material in these videos will, at times, get quite technical, as this is a formal system of logic. You are urged to keep in mind that the goal here is, ultimately, train your mind to be able to think in a particular way, not simply solve some puzzles.
